Glad ya feel that way. :) In the unlikely event you want to game mechanic inspiration, let me know and I can try to "translate" some of the gobbledygook into something useable for you. That's one of the upsides of GURPS; where possible, real-world units or other references are included so it is easier to adapt stuff to or from GURPS to other games. Think of it like a laid back version of The Borg from Star Trek: "Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Or we'll adapt to you. Either is... cool."
Also, fun fact: the spellchecker actually did help me fix "gobbledygook", as I originally spelled it with a second "e" instead of a "y".
I hope it goes (or already went) well. If not, though, that is okay. I'm just happy you gave GURPS a chance. I know it is the right RPG system for me, because I tend to want a little bit of everything. So, even when a dedicated rule system that handles a particular kind of setting/genre fits it better, I miss how GURPS lets me add something different into the mix. With the option of going insanely detailed or winging it already baked into the rules. ;)
Feel free to share how things went for ya, CoreBrute. Whether it was good, bad, or somewhere in between. :)
You know it wasn't my original intention in bringing up a Paladin, but "WWII but D&D classes exist" honestly sounds pretty amazing and now I want to see if I can convince any of my friends to go along with it.
