I doubt the full series of events is ever going to come into play, but I do have a timeline of development for the Defenders campaign, so just to elaborate a little bit:
When the "Iron Man" campaign ended up completely derailed by Rob deciding to lean into the superhero aspects he'd created, Kevin was naturally livid. But even as he started plotting ways to kill Tony and get back to corporate espionage, the gears started turning for a new campaign, dedicated entirely to pursuing a superhero story.
Aside from the SHIELD trio, the "Wakandans" were actually the first group Kevin reached out to about the idea, figuring that they basically had a superhero among them already and that he could very easily base a plot around stolen vibranium. Unfortunately the players politely declined as they weren't ready to have their in-game nation work with a wider world, so it was back to the drawing board.
There were other groups and players that were under consideration before reaching the roster that he's ultimately settled on that may be brought up later. I just figured that this particular bit won't get much in the way of elaboration beyond a nod here or there, so it was probably worth clarifying.
I love the idea there's a group of nation building roleplayers! Nation building is so much fun in RP. Most likely they're using a variation of the Kingmaker rules from PF1e, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were also using bit of Microscope/Kingdom for Wakanda. Truly such a neat idea.
Seriously though Deadpool, Cable, you guys need to relax. I respect Kevin for basically keeping you quarantined from the rest of the RPers because your attitudes are a little, tiny bit toxic, not gonna lie.
Ryan quarantines himself in all honesty, he's absolutely aware of how sick of his shit everyone is by this point but figures if he plays dumb he might be able to get a foot in the door.
Josh, on the other hand, isn't actively TRYING to be a jerk... it just happens.
Are you sure you're not setting things up to randomly have Deadpool pop into past Marvel films?
...
C'mon Disney. You've done far worse for money. Imagine a special "Deadpool Cut" of Phase 1 through 4! You have the technology, and at least for now, you still have the funds and actors. In fact, the entire thing could be Deadpool improbably failing to appear at major moments in the MCU. Best of all, you don't have to be good, you just have to be good or spectacularly bad. I believe in your capacity to fail, Disney!
Before the whole Hugh Jackman potential timeline-jumping angle for Deadpool 3 came up, I genuinely thought the movie would open with Wade sitting at a desk wearing a pair of mouse ears and explaining to the audience what was still canon from his first two movies and what wasn't, and it would include a montage of him poorly photo-shopped into past moments.
