Sarah was right, a common threat helps a lot with inter-party conflict. Especially if it's one the whole party decides they'd rather not deal with.

The best way to solve interparty conflict, is to be the party conflict.

Wait that doesn't sound right...

This also helps explain a party dynamic that sometimes goes horribly wrong:

When the rest of the group is on board with it, it is okay to create the kind of character the rest have to "babysit". I mean, look at what they get; yeah, Hulk-duty is awful (and potentially lethal) but what do you get in return? A brilliant scientist (Bruce Banner) and perhaps the tankiest of tanks in the MCU.

I accidentally did something worse to my group in a "superhero" game. As per usual, this is a story from decades ago, so GURPS Third Edition or Third Edition (Revised). The irony is my super was supposed to be a survival monster, but the Third Edition versions of the traits I used to achieve this... they were no where near as kind as the Fourth Edition. The short version (I made a mega post under a different comic this time XP) is I was probably the weakest in combat (both offensively and defensively), in stealth, in social situations, etc. The thing was, if you didn't kill me outright I'd heal fairly quick (1 HP/second), I may have not needed to breathe, eat, sleep, etc. (been a while, so I don't remember), and if I did die, I'd eventually revive (but I'd lose 25 Character Points, so I'd have to lower Attributes, lose Advantages, and/or "forget" Skills if I didn't have enough unspent CP to pay it). Not only could I rebuild that character more efficiently in Fourth Edition, but the equivalent version of the Advantage that let me resurrect from the dead no longer caries that 25 CP/death penalty.
